• Basic Installation Process:
  •

  Remove the 8 head bolts and take off the compressor head
  •

  Carefully lift off the old valve plate by holding each end; if stuck, tap gently with a rubber mallet on the bottom edges (never hit the sides)
  •

  Clean all old gasket material from the valve plate, head, and cylinder using a green scrubbing pad to polish the aluminum
  •

  Apply a light coat of Vaseline to the edges of the new gasket to keep it in place
  •

  Install the new cylinder gasket on the cylinder
  •

  Install the new valve plate, ensuring all holes line up with the gasket holes
  •

  Important: The rectangular groove must face up on the air intake (inlet) side — installing backwards will pump air out the intake filter
  •

  Reinstall the head and bolts
