Installation Steps
Drain the old tank: Empty all remaining fuel from the original 5021869 tank safely into an approved container before starting.
Disconnect lines: Disconnect the main fuel supply hose and any vent lines attached to the old tank. Make note of where each line connects.
Remove mounting hardware: Unbolt the existing tank from the mower frame or carrier brackets. Keep the hardware unless it is damaged or rusted.
Inspect the mounting area: Clean any debris or buildup from the mower's tank platform. Ensure brackets are straight.
Position the new tank: Set the 5410708YP tank onto the mounting carrier. Because it is the manufacturer-approved replacement for 5021869, it uses the existing bolt holes and mounting layout.
Secure the tank: Fasten the mounting bolts down evenly. Do not over-tighten plastic-mounted bolts to avoid cracking the new tank.
Reattach fuel lines: Connect the fuel supply line to the tank outlet and secure it tightly with a hose clamp. Attach the vent line if applicable.
Test for leaks: Add a small amount of fresh fuel and check all connections before operating the mower.
